I don’t do much burning… I’ll make a mix CD from time to time, and should I ever decide to spend the insane amout on money on ACID 3.0 so I can make Definitive Pinwiz Mixes I’ll be doing more.

Still, it’s a sign that it might be time to stock up while prices are still low. Time to get a few more spindles, I think.

Okay, I’m sure some of these images have been shown before, but I do love this one. And it proves that he’s got better fashion sense than Laura.

Anyway, where was I? Jerri’s gone! Yes! Party time! Excellent! And I so called it two weeks ago.

I start the ultra-busy schedule this week. I’m going to start up another class at Act One in two weeks, and I’m doing two shifts a week at the bar. The plan is that if I’m busy, I can’t focus on the dating drought. Let’s see if it works.

Watch a hacker work the system

I’ve had my debit card hacked before. Ever since my card expired and I got a new one, I haven’t had a problem. Of course, there is a side benifit to that as well… but I’m not telling you. I’m preparing to eventually pay the charges anyway.

Still, MSNBC paid two full-time hackers to log their days work. My brain simply can’t work like that. I couldn’t hack it (pun intended).

This is why you should always be careful with your credit card information.

The first copy protected CD is about to come out. This isn’t that difficult to circumvent, since you can simply make analog recordings of tracks (which I still need to fix on my computer… aargh) and then put them online and in an instant it’s over.

Still, check out thsi paragraph:

“Nobody wants to make things difficult for legitimate purchasers,” says Cary Sherman, general counsel of the Recording Industry Association of America, which is helping the labels examine the new techniques. “But if piracy continues to spiral out of control, [copy-protecting CDs] will become more and more attractive an option — even if it has some negative impact on some listeners.”

So, piss off your consumers and they’ll realize that they could get the same .mp3s for free. Are people really that stupid? Guess so.

Have you registered with Amazon.com? Do you go to websites that filter the information according to your preferences? Do you hang out on websites and discussion boards that are slanted in a particular direction?

Sure, we all do!

However, there’s an article on Slashdot that states that such actions might not be the best thing for democracy. As the digital media continues to expand, we might lose our ability to experience other points of view even if we disagree with them (newspapers and balanced coverage).

I tend to agree with that viewpoint, and that’s why I try to get my news from balanced sources if I can (or at least as balanced as possible). That’s why I love Salon.

All banishments will be done in the house, and the audience will vote for the winner. Casting sure couldn’t be worse that the original, so we’ll see where it goes. It has the potential to be a live Survivor in this format.

Ironminds: Dr. Livia, We Presume?

I haven’t said it before, but last week’s Sopranos was fucking amazing. I was so gratified that I watched it. And then there’s the possible outcome of the events in that episode that are in the link above. Something to consider. And very cool, if it does.

The music is simply killer.

I do think that they are running out of ideas for the Survivor Dances. The Colleen Dance and the Greg Dance were great, and you know how much I love me some Mitchell Dancing. (Find all of them at the link above.) But the Jeff, Kimmi, and Rodger Dancing just sucked. Horribly. Ew.
